in 2021 i had the privilege to lead the grammy-winning wdr big band for the project cologne composers corner at the kölner philharmonie. together with carla köllner, maik krahl and johannes ludwig, i was invited to present my work as a composer and arranger. as part of this, i took on the musical direction and conducted the band for most of the concert, supported by mentor ansgar striepens. it was a very special opportunity to work with one of the world’s leading big bands in my home city.
