outside of my own works i work as trumpeter (and sometimes singer) in multiple projects. here´s a selection.
carl wittig´s aurora oktett (2020 – now)
carl´s band has been one of my longest projects as a sideman. it combines a jazz-quartet (dr/bs/tr/ts) with a classical string quartet. we’ve released two albums “continuity and resonance (2025)” and “perspective suite (2022)“ , won the german jazz price 2025 and the leipzig jazznachwuchspreis (2022), tour regularly and play(ed) festivals such as jazz-ahead, leipzig jazz festival & detect festival
julius windisch´s immerweiter (2022 – now)
julius music and the quartet pursues the idea of a musical utopia, driven by collective growth, intensity, and trust rather than individual focus. rhythmically very challenging and never to be achieved perfection. we’ve released the record “in it´s own pace” (2023), toured nationally and internationally (japan, georgia, austria, switzerland) and will release a new live record end of 2025.
robert lucaciu´s fallen crooner (2021 – now)
double bassist and composer robert lucaciu’s project fallen crooner examines male self-image and opens a playful discourse on gender roles. together with laura totenhagen, shannon barnett, sofía salvo, moritz baumgärtner and myself, the music weaves lucaciu’s compositions and free improvisation with songs and texts, creating space for each musician’s voice to unfold.
christopher dell´s dialogue concerts & working concert (2021 + 2022)
after inviting christopher to my concert series w. my bigband, i was very fortunate to work w. him at the dialogue concerts (w. legendary architect daniel libeskind) and his working concert edition at the cologne jazzweek 2022. deeply structural researching and process-based music/performance(s).
w. simon nabatov (2023 – now)
after working in simon´s fine-mesh ensemble for a deutschlandfunk recording in 2023, i’ve been very fortunate to work in several of simon´s projects, such as “was mein großvater mir hätte erzählen können” and the record “agree to disagree”
